Intermediate Phase

St Vincent School has an Intermediate Phase with small classes on average 9 learners per class. All the teachers are qualified in their specific learning areas. The school teaches the following subjects:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Social Science
  • Economic and Management Science
  • Natural Science
  • Arts and Culture (Arts and Culture includes dramas and plays at the end of term 2 and 4)
  • Technology
  • Sign Language
  • Computer Studies (An extra subject supporting other subjects and including Computer Skills)

All the subjects are English based but are taught using Sign Language.

The Intermediate Phase has a Bridging Class included where we support learning difficulties and this class is also used to accommodate new learners who need extra support in Sign Language. This class is a positive experience for the learners because it helps to improve their self confidence until they are able to go back in the mainstream.

There is also an assistant to help with one on one attention and to assess the Learners.

The School caters for extra mural as well as extra lessons and homework from 14h00 - 16h00 from Monday to Thursday.

Learners can arrange for extra lessons with the subject Teacher.

The School also offers different clubs and Intermediate Phase Learners are welcome to join.
